“The Congress is against any curbs on social media”

The instinct to crush something goes against the basic ideology of the Congress.” However, Singh said that there was need for restraint within the social media and it was imperative to ensure that abusive language on social media platforms is not used. “The manner in which social media is being misused by creating wrong identity and hurling invectives at individuals is not acceptable,” said Singh while speaking at a debate on “Is media crossing the Lakshman Rekha”. The debate kickstarted the three-day media fest “Manthan 2014”, organised by B.A.G Network’s Internationnal School of Media and International Studies (ISOMES).
