Irregularities under MGNREGA in Madhya Pradesh
Will the Minister of RURAL DEVELOPMENT be pleased to satate :-
- (a)the number of the cases of irregularities revealed in different development blocks under MGNREGA in Madhya Pradesh during 2011-12, 2012-13 and 2013-14, development block-wise;
- (b)whether these cases have been investigated; and
- if so, the number and the names of the places where charges were found to be true along with the action taken thereon?
(a): As per the information provided by the Government of Madhya Pradesh, 953 complaints were received between 2011-12 and 2013-14 at the State level. Information on complaints received at sub-state levelsis not compiled by the State Government.
(b): 284 complaints have been investigated by the State and the investigation on the remaining is in progress.
(c) : As informed by the State Government, as per the investigation reports received at the State level, 50 complaints were found to be true. Appropriate actions against the Panchayat Raj authorities are being taken as per the provisions of Panchayat Raj act, 1993. Action against Government officers is being taken under relevant rules. In cases of mis-appropriation of funds, the process of recovery is under progress.
